David has lived in Stakes for over 40 years and knows the area well. He is now retired but previously had a consultancy and more recently was involved in the hospitality sector for a couple of years.

He is passionate about his local community and has been actively involved in campaigning for road safety measures. He is concerned about the huge majority of Tory councillors on Havant BC and feels there is a certain complacency with many expecting to be automatically re-elected, which is not healthy.

A strong opposition is needed now, which is why he is standing as the Labour candidate this time.

Priorities locally are:

• Infrastructure, particularly as it affects Schools and Health
• Need for town centre regeneration
• Decent social housing
• Challenges for the younger in the community in finding a sense of purpose in Waterlooville and the surrounding area
